HappyNest Entertainment, the producer of Paris Hilton’s YouTube show “Paris & Pups,” is in early development on several new projects, including a series with “Goosebumps” author R.L. Stine, an adaptation of the graphic novel “Louis and the Bears,” and a series based on decades of children’s STEM programs.
HappyNest, the children’s and family entertainment company best known for “Paris & Pups” (developed in collaboration with Paris Hilton’s 11:11 Media and 9 Story Media Group) and the Christmas special Chuck E. Cheese released on Amazon last year, also has partnerships with UTA, Walmart and Moonbug.
Description of the three new projects by HappyNest themselves:
Space Camp: HappyNest will develop a franchise and content plan based on Space Camp, the world’s oldest and largest STEM camp, rooted in NASA astronaut training. The content speaks to themes embedded in the internationally known camp related to teamwork, leadership skills, and fostering imagination and interest in space exploration. RL Stine: Following HappyNest’s investment in GoKidGo, the company will adapt its spooky comedy audio podcast, RL Stine’s Story Club, into publishing and additional formats. The project is acclaimed author R.L. Stine’s first original non-book IP work, extending his signature blend of suspense, humor and children’s horror from audio storytelling to publishing and beyond. Louie and Bear: HappyNest is developing the popular graphic novel series “Louie and Bear in the Land of Anything Goes” into a character-driven children’s and family franchise, with plans to expand into digital and gaming platforms.
“Today’s children and family audiences engage with stories in a completely different way than they did just 10 years ago,” said HappyNest Entertainment CEO Philip Fear. “We develop our franchises with that reality in mind, creating IP that can survive across platforms, categories and experiences from day one. From Space Camp to R.L. Stines Story Club, our slate reflects the kinds of culturally resonant properties that we believe can grow into long-term kids and family franchises.”
“Space Camp has inspired generations of young people through space, science and imagination, and storytelling is a natural way to enhance that mission,” said Brenda Perez, CEO and CFO of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, home of Space Camp. “We are working with HappyNest to move beyond traditional platforms while staying true to the core values that have made Space Camp an enduring and meaningful brand for more than 40 years.”
