Britney Spears dismissed any criticism after putting on a wild show in Los Angeles traffic on Thursday.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the 44-year-old singer was snapped standing tall above traffic in a black Mercedes SUV on Highway 101 near Studio City.
On Sunday, Spears posted a photo on Instagram of herself dramatically lying on the roof of a car with her arms outstretched, telling her followers that she was “arching toward the Lord.”
“What people are seeing is 2 seconds of madness as I arch towards the lord!!!!!!” she wrote. “Yet my reality continues for days and hours!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.”
She added, “Well, looks like I’m going to have to come out through the roof a little bit more 🙄😳🤦♀️😂.”
It seemed like business as usual for Spears on Friday after her freeway antics made headlines. She posted a video on Instagram wearing a sparkly pink minidress and playfully sticking her tongue out.
A photo of Spears on Thursday shows her passionately throwing her head back and stretching her arms over the roof of her car as traffic continued to flow around her.
A source told the Daily Mail that the “Toxic” singer looked through the sunroof “for a moment” to check on traffic as the car was stopped.
“She used to do this all the time as a kid growing up in the South. She loves the warm breeze blowing through her hair in the summer and it’s fun,” they told the outlet.
The source added: “She’s having a great summer, she’s happy, she’s in a good place. Even if it’s illegal to stick her head in the sunroof, she doesn’t know it! She didn’t mean to do anything bad.”
Spears has been under intense scrutiny since her arrest for drunk driving in California in March. The arrest came months after she was seen driving erratically after a night out with friends.
She voluntarily entered a rehab facility in April and left the facility less than a month later.
“She is healthy, happy, very positive and excited to start fresh. Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself,” a source told Page Six at the time.
Meanwhile, Page Six Hollywood reported earlier this month that the mother-of-two’s long-awaited biopic is well underway, with screenwriter Liz Meriwether hired to write an early draft. Meriwether’s credits include 2011’s “No Strings Attached,” the TV shows “New Girl,” “Dying For Sex” and “The Dropout.”
The “Wicked” duo of director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt are also participating in this buypick.
