Emily Feingold, one of Netflix’s top communications executives, is leaving the streaming giant after eight years.
Feingold was hired as communications director in 2017 and was promoted to vice president of communications in 2022. It’s unclear why Feingold, who has a good reputation, is leaving Netflix. Netflix helped her become a household name, and she fiercely defended that reputation during her tenure. Pac was the first to break the news of Feingold’s departure.
At Netflix, Feingold helped the streamer transition into original production. Her early ratings successes and Oscar nominations, including Alfonso Cuaron’s “Roma,” Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” and “Extraction,” with Chris Hemsworth, debuted during her first few years on the job. She then oversaw all communications for the U.S. and Canada and played a key role in crafting messaging for Netflix’s advertising, gaming, live events, and recent Warner Bros. acquisition. (Netflix ultimately backed out of a bidding war with Warner Bros., paving the way for Paramount Skydance to acquire the traditional media giant.)
Feingold’s departure comes as Netflix has introduced new leadership for its media relations team, including the recent hires of chief communications officer Dani Dudek and vice president of global corporate communications Kelly Pakula. The streamer also hired two more people to its communications team, Mallory Rusich, senior director of product and technology communications, and Caitlin Conant, head of U.S. policy communications and foreign affairs.
Prior to joining Netflix, Mr. Feingold served as senior vice president of corporate strategy and communications at Andell, a private investment firm. She previously spent 13 years working for New York-based companies including Ralph Lauren and The Weinstein Company. Mr. Feingold began his career in Washington, D.C., and worked in the White House during the Clinton administration.
“Emily has been a dedicated member of the Netflix team for eight years and has made meaningful contributions throughout her tenure,” said Dudek, who was hired at the end of 2025. “We are deeply grateful for what she has done for our team and our company, and wish her every success in her future endeavors.”
