NBC has released first look photos of new shows for the 2026-2027 broadcast season.

The network has ordered four new shows for next season: the drama “Line of Fire” and the rebooted version of “The Rockford Files,” and the comedies “Sunset P.I.” and “Newlyweds.” According to the NBC 2026 fall schedule, “Line of Fire” and “Newlyweds” are both scheduled to debut this fall, while “Rockford Files” and “Sunset PI” will launch midseason.

In “The Rockford Files” (see above), David Boreanaz takes over the role of James Rockford from the late James Garner. The show’s logline reads, “A newly paroled ex-convict, James Rockford (Boreanaz) returns to his life as a private investigator, using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles. It doesn’t take long for his quest for legitimacy to find him squarely in the crosshairs of both local law enforcement and organized crime.”

Alongside Boreanaz, the series stars Michaela McManus, Felix Solis, and Jacki Weaver. Mike Daniels wrote the pilot and will serve as executive producer along with Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman. Chris Leanza is co-executive producer. Greg Mottola directed and executive produced the pilot.

“Lines of Fire” follows “a family of law enforcement officers who bridge personal differences and cross professional boundaries as they work on cases for the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, and Department of Justice. After a seemingly simple case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use their lifelong expertise protecting civilians and politicians to protect each other and bring the killer to justice…even if it means betraying the norms of their oath.”

The series stars Peter Krauss, Hope Davis, Kat Canning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett. Josh Safran will serve as writer and executive producer, with Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector also serving as executive producers. Rebecca Thomas directed and executive produced the pilot.

Little is known about the exact plot of “Sunset PI,” other than that it is set in the world of private detectives in Los Angeles. A cheeky logline says the project “continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles Private Eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and ends with this show.”

Jake Johnson, Jane Levy, Langston Carman, Mary Shalaby and Keith David star in the series, which is written and executive produced by Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredisi. The pilot was directed by Lonely Island’s Akiva Shafer.

“Newlyweds” is described as “a late-life love story between a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who impulsively marry after a whirlwind courtship.” The film stars real-life couple Tea Leoni and Tim Daly, with regular guest star Jamie Lee Curtis.

Gail Lerner will serve as writer and executive producer, and Curtis will also serve as executive producer in addition to reprising his role. Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum will executive produce for The Tannenbaum Company, along with Scott Schwartz and Lionsgate Television. Pam Fryman directed the pilot.

NBC has already made decisions on the rest of its primetime scripted lineup, which includes comedies “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” “A Happy’s Place,” “St. The broadcaster previously canceled the second installment of the medical drama “Brilliant.” Minds” and the freshman comedy “Stumble.” A decision has not yet been made regarding the second season of the drama, “The Hunting Party.”
