Mike White continues the tradition of inviting ‘Survivor’ players to ‘The White Lotus’.
White competed on Season 37 of “Survivor” before going on to create the now-beloved HBO drama. Then, shortly after “White Lotus” Season 3 was released, he returned to Fiji to compete on “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.” After losing there, he wrote the script for Season 4 of “The White Lotus.”
During Wednesday’s live “Survivor 50” finale, host Jeff Probst interviewed White via video call, but the writer and director is currently out of the country filming “The White Lotus” and was unable to attend the taping in Los Angeles. Probst asked if White had any news to share, as White has previously had Survivor contestants such as Cirie Fields, Angelina Keeley and Christian Hubicki make cameos on the show.
Charlie Davis and Camila Kartigues will be jetting off to France soon to appear in Season 4 of The White Lotus, White said.
The main cast of ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 includes Laura Dern, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonté Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Greiner, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz. Additional cast includes Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustafsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.
White had an emotional experience while playing “Survivor 50.” Speaking to Variety magazine in the show’s cover story, he said, “I wanted to escape. I know this is a very naive thing to say, and it sounds stupid, because you don’t go on a reality show to escape your identity.” “But I thought, ‘This is going to be healthy for me.'” Step away from reading stupid reviews and things I was into. But on the island, I think I was experiencing my own existential realization. ”
