It has been announced that Megan Thee Stallion will be leaving Moulin Rouge! The Musical soon after her breakup with Klay Thompson.
The rapper, who broke down in tears at the end of Saturday night’s Broadway performance after revealing that he had broken up with the NBA star over allegations of infidelity, was originally scheduled to perform through May 17.
But on Monday, she revealed that her last show as Zidler will be May 1.
She did not disclose the reason for her early retirement.
“Hey everyone, my last appearance as Zidler on @moulinrougebway will be May 1st ❤️🩹,” she shared on Instagram. “It’s such an honor to be part of the Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many wonderful people at this theater!”
“You all work really hard. I have so much respect for your dedication, your stamina, your work ethic, the time and effort you put into your work!” she continued. “I am so grateful to the cast and crew for making this experience so rewarding.”
She also thanked her fans, writing, “And to all the Hotties who came or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this amazing journey! I love you 🥹 See you again 💙.”
Page Six reached out to a representative for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
Megan, who appeared in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on March 24, said she felt unwell during the performance and was hospitalized late last month.
The “Body” rapper later called the horrifying incident a “wake-up call” that he was pushing himself too hard.
“I’ve been pushing myself beyond my limits and running on empty lately, and my body finally said enough is enough,” she shared on Instagram. “Honestly, I was scared. I thought I was going to pass out on stage. I tried my best to push through the performance, but I couldn’t.”
Fans rallied behind her on Saturday following news of their breakup, and Megan wiped away tears as fans gave her a standing ovation after her performance.
Megan, 31, and Thompson, 36, dated for nearly a year before she made bombshell claims on Saturday that she was cheating on him.
“Cunning, made me play house with the whole family…’I was cold,'” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “During basketball season, I’ve been holding you down with your horrible mood swings and treatment of me. Now you don’t even know if you can be ‘monogamous’?”
In a statement to Page Six, Megan confirmed the shocking breakup.
“I have made the decision to end my relationship with Clay. Trust, loyalty, and respect are non-negotiables in my relationship, and once those values are compromised, there is no real path forward,” she said.
“I am taking this time to prioritize myself and move forward with peace and clarity,” she added.
Thompson has previously dated Laura Harrier and Coco Jones, but has yet to comment on their breakup.
