Italian executive Marco Chimentz has resigned as co-managing director of Paris-based pan-European production and distribution company Federation Studios after less than three years.
Prior to joining the federation in 2023, Chimentz, who spent more than 20 years at Italy’s prestigious ITV Cattleya, the production company behind Gomorrah, and is a former president of the European Producers Club, joined the federation and worked closely with founder and CEO Pascal Breton and co-director Lionel Huzan to streamline the studio and prepare it for sale in the United States.
The Federation currently operates three companies including Federation Studio France, Vertigo Films in London, Fabula Pictures in Italy, Drama Team in Tel Aviv, and Picture Perfect Federation in the United States. The production, financing and distribution studio is comprised of five production companies and is known for titles such as The Bureau, In Treatment, Baby, Hostages, Marseilles, Bad Banks, Your Excellency and Around the World in 80 Days.
Under Chimentz’s leadership, the federation last year launched a new film and television program in Italy called No Name Entertainment in collaboration with renowned Italian producer Alessandro Ussai.
“We sincerely thank Marco for his valuable contribution to the Group’s international growth and wish him success in his future professional endeavors,” Pascal Breton, CEO of Federation Studios, said in a statement.
Chimenz commented: “The last two and a half years have been a very interesting experience and a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic, young and motivated team of executives and producers. I wish them all the best.”
Mr. Chimenz will no longer take up this role, and Lionel Huzan will become Group Managing Director and Pascal Breton will become CEO.
