Variety exclusively reported that five new cast members have been added to Amazon Prime Video’s TV series “Life is Strange.”
Billy Barratt (The Responsible Child, Invasion), Emily Carey (House of the Dragon, Wonder Woman), Esther McGregor (We Were Liars, High School), Farey Rakotohavana (No Prison, Secondborn Royals), and Mia Isaac (The Perfect Couple, Don’t Make Me Go) are all on board. A live-action adaptation of the hit video game.
They will co-star with previously announced stars Maisie Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins, as well as other cast members Tom Cullen, Lesha Hailey, Raul Castillo and Owen Teague.
According to the official logline, the show will be about “Max (Hopkins), a photography student, discovers he can rewind time while saving the life of his childhood best friend Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the two investigate the mysterious disappearance of a classmate and uncover the dark side of a town that ultimately forces them to make impossible life-or-death choices that will affect them forever.”
Barratt will star as Nathan, one of Chloe and Max’s classmates. Carrie will play Victoria Chase, one of Nathan’s best friends. McGregor will play missing student Rachel Amber. Rakoto Havana plays Warren, another friend of Max’s. Isaac is set up as Kate Marsh, Max’s best friend.
Barratt is repped by CAA, SYA, Ace MGMT and Hansen Jacobson. Mr. Carey is represented by Curtis Brown Group. McGregor is repped by WME, Underscore Talent, Sloane Offer and Narrative. Rakotohavana is represented by Media Artists Group, ESI Network, and Katz Public Relations. Isaac is repped by UTA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Yorn Levine.
“Life is Strange” is created by Charlie Covell, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mackenzie Doll is the scriptwriter and executive producer. Karin Kusama will direct the first two episodes and serve as executive producer under the Family Style production banner. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson will serve as executive producers through Story Kitchen. Jen Roskind and LuckyChap’s Dani Gorin and Natalie Berkus will also serve as executive producers. The series is created by Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap and produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
