Elle Woods never goes out of style.
While promoting the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel, Elle actress Lexi Minnetree sports a look that looks just like Reese Witherspoon herself.
Minetree, 25, who appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” donned the fictional character’s signature color, using the pink tulle look worn by Witherspoon at the film’s 2001 premiere.
The dress, designed by Marc Jacobs, featured a knee-length mermaid hem silhouette and a spaghetti strap top. The bright pink taffeta below is covered in light, sheer black tulle, giving it a bit of an edge.
Witherspoon wore matching lipstick, tied her blonde hair up in a bun, and added strappy heels.
While the young actress didn’t wear the exact same accessories as her predecessor from 25 years ago, she stayed straight from the early ’80s when it came to styling, wearing hot pink Steve Madden mules.
She was only 3 months old when the original movie was released, but the Prime Video series “Elle,” which premieres July 1, embodies the young Woods to the fullest.
To get the role, Maintree joked that she went completely Elle Woods for the producers. “I know what I have to do. I have to recreate her Harvard entrance video,” Minnetree said, adding, “My mom helped me film it.”
The drama is set in 1995 and begins with Woods’ journey through high school. Witherspoon will serve as one of the executive producers.
