Lady Gaga and Doechii have released the music video for their latest collaboration, “Runway,” and the Parris Goebel-directed clip channels sass and high fashion.
The song is featured in 20th Century Studios’ new film The Devil Wears Prada 2, where it plays during scenes of models getting ready backstage for Milan Fashion Week.
The video reflects the film’s high fashion focus, with each artist taking turns sporting a different look. What follows is an explosion of costumes and backup dancers, ending with, you guessed it, Gaga and Doechi striding down the runway.
The duo flaunts a number of custom-made looks, including gowns by Miss Claire Sullivan, custom LUAR twin suits, and custom catsuits by Bud Vinci Tong Tong, Robert Ng, and Guarvu Gupta. Doechii and Gaga twinned in matching black Opera platforms by Tom Solo, and in another clip, Gaga wears custom red alligator Tom Solo Opera heels.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 stars Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, as she deals with the decline of print journalism and tries to find her footing in a dying industry. Priestley will be opposite Emily Blunt’s character. Emily Blunt is her former assistant, now a powerful executive at Christian Dior with the advertising dollars Priestley desperately needs.
Since its release, the single has racked up a total of 2,962,332 unfiltered streams on Spotify, debuting at number 32 on the Global Spotify Charts. It also debuted at number 25 on the US Spotify charts, with over 727,000 total streams.
Gaga spoke of their mutual admiration and praised her collaborators. In an interview with British Vogue magazine, Gaga said, “You don’t often see someone with a pen that you feel is legendary right out of the gate. For me, that’s what it’s all about. I fell in love with her music and her raw, very personal perspective.” She added, “The power of her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymed with a wild combination of boldness and emotional precision struck me to the core.”
Last year, Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. “Growing up, I was very different from most of the people around me, and everything around me represented a community of alternative kids who were underrepresented in my environment.”
Andrew Watt co-produced the song with Bruno Mars, Cirkat, and Durnst “D’Mile” Emile II. Watt also co-wrote the song with Gaga, Mars, Doechee, Cirkat, D’Mile, and Jada Love.
Gaga also has a cameo in the film and recently finished her Mayhem Ball tour.
