Karlie Kloss is committed to being a Democrat.
The model made rare comments about her husband Josh Kushner’s ties to the Trump family in an interview with Bloomberg Originals published Wednesday.
“I’m a Democrat. It’s possible to have relationships with people who don’t align with me politically,” she argued. “And I think this country has always been a place of dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other.”
“I know who I am,” said the 33-year-old, whose partner’s brother Jared Kushner is married to President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump.
“I know the values that guide my life and the issues that I care about,” she continued. “So I haven’t lost sight of who I am, but it’s also my husband’s family.”
When asked about the dynamic at family dinners, Cross pointed out: “We’re sitting here in St. Louis, a blue dot in a red state. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been exposed to different political viewpoints, and I think that’s trained me in life.”
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel also clarified that she has “never met President Trump.”
Her remarks came six years after she told viewers of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that she “voted Democratic in 2016 and … intends to do the same in 2020.”
Kloss started dating Josh, 41, in 2012, and the two announced their engagement in July 2018.
The couple wed three months later in upstate New York, followed by a second ceremony in Wyoming the following summer.
Meanwhile, Jared, 45, and Ivanka, 44, got married in October 2009.
Josh and Kloss were noticeably absent from the couple’s 10th anniversary party in 2019.
The following year, Kloss made headlines for allegedly beating up her in-laws after Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
After Cross tweeted that “accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic; refusing to accept and inciting violence is anti-American,” a social media user told her to “tell” her family, to which she responded, “I tried.”
Sources told Page Six at the time that Ivanka was “surprised and hurt,” but that by 2024, the two were on “good terms.”
They are not “best friends” but “get along well,” a source told Us at the time.
The two recently put on a united front during a family vacation in Costa Rica in April 2025.
