The weekend was mostly a family affair for Turks and Caicos celebrities.
Movie, TV and reality stars such as Jesse Eisenberg, Nicole Ari Parker, Chad Michael Murray, Dorinda Medley and other VIPs took over the Caribbean island for the opening of Sandals Treasure Beach Village at Beaches, where they trained with Amanda Kloots, learned mahjong and gave back to the islanders.
Ms. Eisenberg began her journey visiting students at Oseta Jolly Elementary School. The ‘Now You See Me’ star reportedly nearly missed his arrival due to a flight delay, but as soon as he arrived on Friday, he rushed to the school to spend Boys’ Day with the boys.
“They were so excited to play strategy games and take pictures with him. It was very special for the kids,” a source told Page Six.
Kelly Bensimon also reportedly visited the school on Friday and spent a reading day with the children. They were accompanied by Heidi Clark, president of the Sandals Foundation. This was a meaningful philanthropic effort for the island and the students, Adam Stewart, executive chairman of Sandals Resorts International, told Page Six.
“The Caribbean is our home, and caring for our neighbors, team members and communities is at the heart of everything we do,” he said. “This is why 100 percent of every dollar donated to Sandals Foundation goes to meaningful causes. Through programs aimed at education, community and conservation, we are building a better tomorrow. That’s what Sandals Foundation is all about,” he added.
Meanwhile, back at the resort, there was a “Brown Sugar” reunion with Parker, husband Boris Kodjoe and co-star Taye Diggs. The three were spotted dancing and laughing at the resort’s big finale party on Saturday night. Visitors raved about Parker, with some commenting on how her favorite part of “And Just Like That…” was. The couple were on the island with their 21-year-old daughter Sophie.
Reality star Medley was on the scene with her daughter Hannah Lynch. Brian Greenberg and Jamie Chung went to the beach with their young children, as did their friends Dave and Odette Annable. Chad Michael Murray and his family celebrated their son’s 11th birthday during their stay.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the organizers, some childless influencers turned gummy and brought some adult antics to the family fun weekend.
In fact, one person had a case of peckishness so severe that even in the scorching temperatures, they couldn’t order delicacies like hot clam chowder, steak, cheesecake, and hot fudge sundaes from the all-inclusive menu.
One person was so stoned that he thought he had been transported to the set of “Jewels of Justice,” he told a nearby guest.
What about mahjong? I’m told Kevin Sharkey, Martha Stewart’s executive director of design, was so impressed with the game that he vowed to bring it back to New York to teach Stewart. However, former model Corey Bonds beat out the group in the game and won.
Other celebrities who helped launch Treasures Beach Village include Sam Champion, Ross Matthews, stylist Tiffany Reid, Today with Jenna & Sheinelle executive producer Talia Parkinson, NewsNation’s Paula Froehlich, Avenue’s Peter Davis, Daily Front Row’s Eddie Roche, Melissa Roxburgh and Sean O’Pry.
