Hayden Panettiere wrote in a new expose that when he was 19, the “respected” and “Oscar-winning actor and director” exposed himself at a party.
Revealing the story in his new memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” the “Nashville” and “Scream” star writes that he was interacting with a group of men at a private gathering in his apartment when he began to feel uncomfortable and decided to leave.
She wrote that a man, who did not give his name, approached her while she was putting on her coat and pointed out that she had chewing gum on her pants. “I looked down and stepped back,” Panettile wrote (via People). “This acclaimed, award-winning actor’s testicles were dangling from his unzipped fly.”
She continued, “It didn’t hurt me and I was sure it was a drunken joke, but I had never seen a grown man do something like that. I was shocked.” Ms. Panettiere attended the party with friends, but decided not to talk about the incident because “the moment had passed,” chalking it up to “an older man who grew up not knowing manners.”
Elsewhere in the book, Panettiere recalled being introduced to a “famous 30-something British singer-songwriter” by another friend while on a yacht in France. The anonymous artist was “lying in bed,” while Panettile’s friend urged her to “come into bed with him. He has a huge penis.” As soon as his friend left the room, Panettiere jumped out.
