“House of the Dragon” Season 3 officially premieres on HBO.
Game of Thrones Season 3 will begin June 21st at 9pm ET and will also stream simultaneously on HBO Max. The eight-episode season will air new episodes weekly until the season finale on August 9th. HBO previously announced that the new season would begin in June, but the exact date was not yet known.

The series, based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood, is set approximately 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen Civil War, known in Westeros as the Dance of Dragons.
The vast ensemble cast includes Matt Smith, Emma Darcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabian Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Fear Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett and Kieran Bew. Kurt Ejawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gail Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtein, Barry Sloan.
Ryan Condal and Martin co-created and executive produced the series, with Condal also serving as showrunner. Sarah Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock and Philippa Goslett also serve as executive producers.
“House of the Dragon” is just one of the projects set in the “Game of Thrones” universe from HBO and Warner Bros. The premium cable company is currently prepping season 2 of another prequel to Game of Thrones, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, whose first season was released to critical acclaim earlier this year. Warner Bros. is also developing a prequel film that will focus on Aegon’s conquest.
