‘Friends’ alum Lauren Thom revealed that her 25-year-old daughter Ellie has bone cancer.
The actress shared the “tough news” about her daughter’s health on Sunday in an Instagram post featuring multiple photos of Ellie.
“She is currently battling osteosarcoma (bone cancer). My family and I are doing everything we can to help her heal,” Tom, 64, wrote.
The “Supernatural” star thanked “my friends, family, and the amazing doctors and nurses at @cedarssinai for their continued endless support, love, and care.”
“It’s really humbling to see how willing people are to reach out and help,” she added.
Tom praised Ellie as an “amazing, deep, sensitive, wise, strong, brave, intelligent and funny soul” and went on to say they have “a long journey ahead of them”.
At the end of his message, Tom asked his followers to wish Ellie a “full recovery” and show their support by leaving a comment on his post or on Ellie’s Instagram account.
“Thank you so much for reading and supporting us,” Tom concluded.
The voice actor also shared a message of support in Ellie’s latest Instagram post.
“You are strong and brave and will fully recover from this situation and live a beautiful and meaningful life,” she wrote. “Ellie, you are much loved by everyone you know.”
Tom has two sons, Ellie and Leo, with her husband, actor Kurt Kaplan, whom she married in 1999.
Tom is best known for playing Ross’ girlfriend, Julie, on Season 2 of Friends in 1995 and 1996.
Her other notable television appearances include the ABC shows “Grace Under Fire” and “Men in Trees” and the Disney Channel series “Andi Mack.”
In animation, Tom has lent his voice to films such as “Futurama,” “King of the Hill,” and “Teen Titans Go!” And so on.
