Jacob Elordi has finally revealed the serious injury that prevented him from being a member of the Cannes Film Festival jury.
“I broke both of my heels earlier this year. I jumped off something,” he told his “Euphoria” co-star Colman Domingo, who was guest host on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday night.
“But it’s like ‘Fight Club,'” he joked, referencing the movie’s motto, “Don’t talk about Fight Club.”
The actor explained that the accident happened around the same time that Euphoria Season 3 aired, leading fans to believe that his cast member was promoting the role of Nate Jacobs.
“When Nate cut off his finger, I was in a cast and wearing moon boots, so I thought it was funny that people were like, ‘Oh, that’s method acting!'”
During the final season of the HBO drama, Nate was severely assaulted and seriously injured by Armenian businessman Naz (Jack Topalian). Naz severed multiple of Nate’s toes and ultimately killed him.
“There are certain body part amputations that my character is very happy to do,” Topalian exclusively told Page Six in April, adding that he used “prosthetic” toes for Elordi.
“The clippers they gave me have pretty sharp edges. So at one point I had to be really careful with that because I was putting it around Jake’s toes.”
“If I squeezed a little too hard, I would literally cut his toe. But everything went well. There were no accidents, no accidents,” he explained.
Back in May, Page Six Hollywood exclusively reported that Elordi was no longer on the jury list for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
At the time, a source said that the 28-year-old had recently broken his leg and “they are looking to replace him as a member of the Cannes jury.”
The final jury included Demi Moore, Stellan Skarsgård, Ruth Negga, and Isaac de Bankole, as well as screenwriter/director Chloe Zhao, Diego Cespedes, Laura Wandel, and screenwriter Paul Laverty.
