Freestyle Digital Media has released the trailer for “Jaunt,” a romantic drama about a spontaneous road trip along the California coast, ahead of its worldwide digital debut on April 21st.
Written by J.R. Rapaport and directed by Alexi Papalexopoulos, Jaunt tells the story of a chance meeting in Los Angeles between Paul, a conflicted and emotionally adrift photographer, and Madeline, a free-spirited Parisian, which quickly turns into an impulsive journey up the California coast to San Francisco.
According to the official synopsis, the story “depicts a fleeting encounter in Los Angeles. Paul, a washed-up manic-depressive photographer, and Madeline, a free-spirited spirit in Paris, find themselves embroiled in more than just a one-night stand. Their unexpected connection leads to him… As the landscape shifts from bustling cities to peaceful coastal towns, their relationship deepens, revealing vulnerabilities, regrets, and dreams. But underneath it all, there’s a storm brewing in their shared moments. ”
The film stars Blake Worrell and Emanuela Boisbouvier as the central characters, with Montana Newsom, daughter of California Governor Gavin Newsom, making her feature acting debut in a supporting role.
“‘Jount’ began as a quest for escape, a pursuit of other people, new places, and fleeting moments where you feel more alive than your own life,” Papalexopoulos said in a statement. “This is the story of two strangers who meet at the right time for all the wrong reasons, and discover that no matter how far they go, they can never outrun the parts of themselves they are trying to leave behind.”
Freestyle Digital Media, part of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, acquired the VOD rights to the film directly from the filmmaker. The title will be available to rent or own across Digital HD platforms, including cable, satellite, and streaming services.
