The first trailer for director Eli Roth’s new horror movie “The Ice Cream Man” has been released. “Slasher” will be released in 2,000 venues across North America on August 7th.
The film is set in the idyllic summer town of Bailene Bay, but when an ice cream shop serves children from its truck, the town is thrown into a frenzy, with horrifying consequences.
The 30-second teaser shows a group of children descending into madness. They approach their sleeping parents, create snow angels in a pool of blood, and one of them holds a woman down with a baseball bat in her stomach, while the slogan “I scream. You scream. We all scream for the ice cream man” flashes across the screen.
“The Ice Cream Man” stars Ari Millen (“Orphan Black”) as the titular courier of the sweet treat, and co-stars Benjamin Byron Davis (“Guardians of the Galaxy 3”), Dylan Hawko (“Heartland”), Chiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Seltzer (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Sarah Abbott (Netflix’s “The Body”). Karen Cliché, Shiloh O’Reilly, and Charlie Storey, who appeared in Roth’s previous film “Thanksgiving,” also appear in “Ice Cream Man.”
“Ice Cream Man” will be the first film under Roth’s umbrella after Horror Section launches in March 2025. Ross will also produce and co-write the screenplay for “Ice Cream Man” with longtime collaborator Noah Belson.
Snoop Dogg will provide original music for the film. Rap icon Nas will serve as executive producer through a new strategic partnership between The Horror Section and Mass Appeal.
