“Dutton Ranch” heads off to the races for Paramount+, with the “Yellowstone” spinoff giving the streamer the biggest series launch in history.
The first two episodes of the series reached 12.9 million views within seven days of release, and both episodes dropped on May 15, according to Paramount data. This far exceeds the record holder for Paramount+’s biggest launch, which was the 8.8 million views achieved by the series premiere of “Mobland” in 2025.
Paramount also aired the first two episodes of “Dutton Ranch” as a two-episode event on its linear network Paramount+. The two episodes averaged 2.9 million total viewers overnight, according to Nielsen data.
This is the latest success for a Taylor Sheridan project in viewership for Paramount+. “Madison,” the “Yellowstone” mastermind series starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, debuted with 8 million views in March. Similarly, “Landman” season 2 premiered in November 2025 and garnered 9 million views.
“Dutton Ranch” continues the story of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) following the events of the “Yellowstone” series finale. In the series, the couple buys a ranch in south Texas and tries to leave their troubles in Montana behind, but find more trouble awaits them as they head south.
The season 1 cast also includes Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, JR Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris, and Annette Bening.
Chad Feehan created the series and served as executive producer and showrunner for season one, but will not be returning for season two. The show is based on characters created by executive producers Sheridan and John Linson. Dutton Ranch is also executive produced by David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yali, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Reilly, Hauser and Keith Cox. In addition to being an executive producer, Voros also directed several episodes this season. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowry and Phil Abraham also served as directors this season. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
