Colin Gosselin is heading to the Malaysian jungle for Season 5 of Special Forces, ahead of the release of his revealing memoir that focuses on his life growing up with parents Jon and Kate Gosselin.
The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star, 22, announced the cast on Instagram Wednesday with a video of the entire cast.
“Secret revealed…” he opened the caption. “I’m so excited to announce that you’ll be watching me take on Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test this fall!”
“This experience was very special for me and I met some really great people along the way. I can’t wait for you to see us tackle these challenges together. See you soon!”
Colin will be joined by other current and former reality stars on the cast, including “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Brandi Glanville, “Selling Sunset’s” Breanna Tiesci, and father-daughter duo Alexia Umansky and Mauricio Umansky, who also appeared on “RHOBH.”
Rounding out the rest of the ensemble are “Full House” alum Candace Cameron Bure, “Orange Is the New Black” actress Ruby Rose, former U.S. Rep. George Santos, NBA champion Matt Barnes, champion boxer Alicia Baumgardner, “Baywatch” alum David Charvet, actor Oliver Hudson, Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy, Olympian Maxim Naumov and comedian Hanna. stockings.
In the upcoming fifth installment, a group of newly recruited celebrities will attempt to “endure some of the toughest and toughest challenges from real-life Special Forces selection process scenarios,” Fox reports.
Former Supervisory Staff (DS) operatives Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Qualls return to manage the training of the new unit as the team is sent to Malaysia to take on “the world’s toughest challenges in the harshest environment a soldier can operate in: the jungle,” the synopsis says.
“Recruits must adapt to demanding jungle warfare missions, including inhospitable conditions, unpredictable terrain, claustrophobic, high-pressure searches of underground bunkers for vital military weapons, retrieving supplies while suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor, and enduring barrages of chemical gas while acquiring the coordinates of enemy ships,” the description reads.
“In this experiment, there are no votes, no eliminations, just survival. These celebrities, accustomed to being in the spotlight, will soon learn what it means to be ‘no guts, no glory’ and no glamour.”
Fans of the reality series may remember that Colin’s mother Kate, 51, starred in season one. However, she was injured in the first episode and was quickly withdrawn from the show.
Colin’s casting was announced shortly after he announced plans to publish a bombshell memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of Childhood, which chronicles his life growing up in the public eye with his seven siblings: Arden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, Leah, and twins Carla and Madeline.
According to the book’s description, Colin promises to tell “the never-before-told story of how[Colin]escaped and found his way back from the darkness.”
His memoir details how he was “held captive in a basement where he hid for years and was forced to administer a cocktail of powerful antipsychotic drugs to an 11-year-old boy.”
It’s no secret that Colin has had a tumultuous relationship with his mother over the years. The young business owner previously accused Kate of “child abuse and child exploitation”, which Kate denies.
In September 2024, Kate’s lawyer told US Sun that she did not believe Kate did anything to “intentionally harm” Colin, saying she “did everything to protect herself and her family” from her son’s “questionable behavior.”
Colin didn’t hesitate to take public jabs at his mother online ahead of the book’s release. But last month, Kate hit back at her son’s claims, calling him “mentally ill.”
