Apple has released a teaser for Callum Turner’s sci-fi drama Neuromancer, based on William Gibson’s groundbreaking 1984 novel.
The Apple TV series is produced by Graham Rowland (“Dark Winds”) and JD Dillard (“The Twilight Zone”), who will direct the pilot. The official plot description teases, “The story follows a disfigured top-tier super hacker, Case (Turner), who, along with his partner Molly (Brianna Middleton), a razor-thin assassin, becomes embroiled in a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime to rob a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.”
The 10-episode series has been greenlit for early 2024 and will follow Gibson’s celebrated debut novel, which won the Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick awards. This book led to the Sprawl trilogy, which included Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, and Burning Chrome.
Middleton, Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard and Clemence Poésy round out the main cast. Turner recently starred in The Rose of Nevada with George MacKay. Next, he will star in the romantic comedy “One Night Only” alongside “A Complete Unknown” breakout Monica Barbaro. Turner is also rumored to be in talks to play James Bond after Daniel Craig ends his role as 007 with 2021’s No Time to Die.
“Neuromancer” is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content. Anonymous Content and Apple TV previously collaborated on “The Savant,” “Disclaimer,” and “Defending Jacob.”
The first episode will be available to stream on Apple TV starting January 22, 2027, with episodes released weekly until Friday, March 19, 2027.
