Barry Poznick, general manager of unscripted television at Amazon MGM Studios, is leaving his current position at the company.

Poznick will begin a three-year executive producer deal with the studio in January, after nearly a decade as head of MGM Alternatives.

Poznick will continue to serve as an executive producer on all of MGM’s reality series, including “The Voice,” “Shark Tank,” “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” “Vanderpump Rules,” and “American Gladiator.”

Poznick joined MGM in 2016 as president of alternative television under Mark Burnett, then chairman of Worldwide Television Group.

Following Amazon’s acquisition of MGM in 2022, Poznick was named to his current role of general manager. While working as an unscripted lead at Amazon, Poznick developed new series including “Are Your Smarter Than a Celebrity,” hosted by Travis Kelce, “007: Road to a Million” with Brian Cox, and the upcoming “American Gladiators” reboot with The Miz and Roxi Diaz.

Below is a memo from Amazon MGM Studios boss Peter Friedlander to staff, obtained by Variety, announcing Poznick’s departure and the move to a production deal.

We are pleased to share some exciting news about Barry Poznick, who has been the head of MGM Alternatives for nearly a decade.

Effective January 1, 2026, Barry will enter a new multi-year production agreement with Amazon MGM Studios, serving as an executive producer overseeing the division’s flagship series.

Barry joined MGM in 2016 and became an integral part of the Amazon team following the acquisition. Throughout his tenure, he has been a transformative force in the world of unscripted entertainment, overseeing shows such as The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Real Housewives, On Patrol Live and Road to a Million. His uncanny ability to create and scale hit shows helps him consistently deliver engaging programming that resonates with audiences around the world. His deep understanding of global formats and proven track record of producing top-class programming make this transition a natural evolution of his storied career in entertainment.

I want to assure you that our strong leadership team remains intact in the MGM Unscripted organization. Lucilla D’Agostino and Kitty Gamble will continue to lead creative development, Justin Dudek will continue to lead physical production, and Ryan Singer and Tony Borbagiovanni will continue in their roles, providing continuity to our creative vision and operational excellence.

We are pleased to have Barry maintain his relationship with Amazon through a producer agreement and continue our rich partnership.
