Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau went on a date in Montreal in July. Rumors were swirling after the former prime minister attended her life tour.
In late July, pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sparked dating rumors after being seen on each other several times in Montreal. On August 2nd, a source said, “Romance is in a very early stage.” Both Perry and Trudeau have ended their relatively recent long-term relationship.
On July 3rd, Perry and actor Orlando Bloom announced the split after six years of engagement in a joint statement with people. The priority of sharing is to raise your daughter with love, stability and mutual respect. ”
Trudeau and his ex-Sophie Gregory split in 2023 18 years later. In a statement posted on Instagram at the time, Trudeau wrote: “Everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we decided to separate. As always, we remain close families with deep love and respect for each other, and we seek the happiness of our children.

July 28th
On July 28th, the pair took a walk around Mount Royal Park in Montreal and shared a long day of activities together. TMZ got a photo of Trudeau smiling with Perry as they went for a walk. They were then photographed eating at Ruioron. In the footage obtained by TMZ, Perry and Trudeau can be seen chatting, with the singer watching Trudeau carefully.
After the meal they had a drink on the terrace of the Tavern Atlantic Ocean.
Shortly after TMZ released the dinner video, the outlet interviewed Danny Smiles, co-owner and co-executive chef of Le Violon. Smiles said Perry and Trudeau didn’t show a PDA and “he couldn’t get the date vibe from Katie and Justin… just two friends who enjoy the meal.”
According to TMZ, Perry and Trudeau enjoyed a series of courses on the chef’s tasting menu, including lobster, tuna, lamb gnocchi and beef tartare. The meal lasted several hours and Trudeau covered the bill. The smiles called them “the perfect guest – Super Chill, very kind to the staff.”
July 30th
On July 30th, Trudeau was seen at Perry’s Lifetime Tour Stop in Montreal. The former Canadian prime minister was discovered by fans in the crowd. His daughter Ella Grace also attended concerts with every email each day.
Trudeau also sang to Perry’s hit song “Firowork.”

Sources who talk to people said there’s definitely a connection between the pair, but that’s a logistical challenge so far.
“They’re interested in each other, but it takes time to see where this goes,” the insider said. “She travels around the world and although he is no longer the prime minister of Canada, he thinks about his life because of his charm. They have a lot in common.”

US Weekly revealed that Perry and Trudeau are still looking at each other. “They decided to be more private about it,” the source said. “They are still talking and are very interested in each other.”
