Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry went on their first date in Montreal on July 28 last year. Now, exactly one year later, they are pictured vacationing with friends in the south of France and still going strong. The couple took selfies together and enjoyed time on the boat, shielding each other from the sun.
Perry is performing at music festivals in Europe this summer. In early July, she shared a photo of Trudeau kissing her in Stuttgart, Germany. He was also spotted in the crowd at her show during the city’s Jazz Open.
He then joined her in Aix-les-Bains, France, and even danced with her and her staff in a video.
Mr. Perry talked about how extraordinary his love story with Mr. Trudeau was. In June, she called him the love of her life during a Q&A at the premiere of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour at the Tribeca Festival. “I’m so in love,” she told host Thomas Mir. She reflected on a Paris concert captured on film that happened shortly after her first date with Prime Minister Trudeau.
“Actually, that show was after I met the love of my life, so I felt very anchored to that show because I’m like a rainbow kite,” she said. “I like being super high-flying and touching the veil and the universe. And sometimes I need to be grounded. So with that grounding, I feel really complete right now.”
Prime Minister Trudeau attended the premiere with her and spoke glowingly about Perry in a red carpet interview. When asked about the movie, he told Entertainment Tonight, “I’ve seen the show three times and didn’t really pay much attention to anything other than Katy, so I’m looking forward to watching the show for the first time now.”
