Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erica, officially broke the silence in the fatal shooting of a conservative critic.
Former Miss Arizona addressed the country via a YouTube live stream on Friday night, remembering him as the “perfect” father and husband.
Erica began by thanking the law enforcement agencies and first responders who attended the day Charlie’s death, as well as those who protected the Turning Point USA team.
She tearfully thanked President Donald Trump, his wife, President Vance, and his wife, Usha, before jumping into the speech.
“Two days ago, my husband, Charlie, went home to see the Savior and God’s face. Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for courage and faith,” Erica began.
After acknowledging the couple’s faith and “global leak” of support she received in light of her husband’s death, she continued to send pointy messages to the suspected Charlie murder.
“The bad guys who are responsible for the assassination of my husband don’t know what they did,” she said.
“They should all know this. If you thought my husband’s mission was previously powerful, you don’t know that you’ve unleashed in this country,” Erica continued, adding, “This widow’s cry echoes all over the world like a cry of battle.”
“No one will forget my husband’s name and I will confirm it,” she vowed. “My husband’s mission will never end.”
She then recalled how he defeated the news of her husband’s death to her 3-year-old by telling her he was on a “work trip with Jesus.”
She talks to her husband and closes him, promising that she will “never let (his) inheritance die,” and says, “I can’t wait to see you again someday.”
Erica signed off and offered Charlie fans a final thanks and “God’s Blessing.”
Charlie, who founded the conservative youth activist organization Turning Point USA, passed away on September 10th after being shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.
His university appearances were part of the “American Comeback Tour” which traveled to multiple university campuses across the country. In her speech, Erica promised that the tour would go as planned.
All celebrities and public figures have mourned Charlie’s death on social media, including Trump.
“The great and legendary Charlie Kirk is dead,” he wrote in his social account of the truth shortly after Charlie’s death was confirmed.
“He didn’t understand or have the center of the youth of the United States better than Charlie. He was loved and praised by everyone, especially me, and everyone who is not with us now,” the president wrote.
“Melania and my sympathy go out to family with his beautiful wife Erica. Charlie, we love you!”
According to one of Erika’s 2023 Instagram posts, the couple celebrated the seventh anniversary of their first date earlier this month.
“Five years ago, we sat inside a Bill’s Burger in New York and with the depths of conversation and jokes about theology, philosophy and politics, you paused, looked at me and said, ‘I’m going to date you.’
Two years after their date, Charlie proposed to Erica in December 2020. They got married on May 8, 2021 in Arizona.
In addition to her daughter, the couple is also the parents of a 1-year-old son.
