Tim Robinson’s new comedy series, “The Chair Company,” will premiere on HBO and HBO MAX on October 12th.
Co-created by Robinson and his “I think you should leave” collaborator Zach Kanin, the show follows a man who begins investigating a widespread plot after suffering an embarrassing incident at work.
The 8-episode series debuts episodes every week, leading to the season finale on November 30th.
Robinson will price series regulars Lake Bell, Barb Trosper, Sofia Lilith and Natalie Trosper, as well as Seth Trosper, and Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini. Lou Diamond Phillips is repeated again as Jeff Leviman.
Adam McKay and Todd Schulman, Andrew Deyoung and Igor Srubshchik of Robinson and Kanin’s executive produced “Chair Company” HyperObject Industries. Deyoung, who recently directed Robinson in the A24 comedy film Friendship, is the director of Aaron Simberg’s series.
Robinson is best known for co-creating and starring in “I Somet You Selep Leave,” an absurd sketch comedy series that became a Netflix phenomenon and produced live tours. Before that, he and Sam Richardson appeared on the sitcom Detroit, co-creators alongside Canin and Joe Kelly.
Robinson is also a writer and cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” and many of his unused sketch ideas appear in one way or another, “I think you should leave.” His acting credits also include “Documentary Now!” Seth Rogen’s film “Pickles of America.”
