Voice actor Greg Cipes is asking fans to help him regain the role of Beast Boy in “Teen Titans Go!”
In a Sunday Instagram post, internet journalist and DC Superfan Emmanuel Newsome tagged James Gunn and asked if he could help out with Cipes. Newsom formerly claimed, “Teen Titans Go!” The star shared “many upsetting details” about how Warner Bros “discriminated against” him due to his Parkinson’s disease. Cipes later responded to the post, making it even clearer about the circumstances surrounding his shooting.
“Warner Bros. literally fired me on Valentine’s Day shortly after publicly sharing the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease,” Cipes wrote. “It’s like death to me that only the fans can come back to life.”
In a follow-up comment, Newsome said he will write a Cipes petition to get him back on his job.
Prolific voice actor Cipes was with “Teen Titans” from the original show, which premiered in 2003. Cipes also voiced Beast Boy throughout all nine seasons of “Teen Titans Go!”
Other Cipes voice credits include “Young Justice”, “Ben 10” (2016), “Milo Murphy’s Law”, “DC Super Girls”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Ultimate Spider-Man”, and “Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!”
“Teen Titans Goes!” premiered in 2013, he has competed in 426 episodes so far, and has produced several television specials and feature films. The show won three Emmy Award nominations for its outstanding short animation program. Other cast members include Scottmenville, Curry Payton, Heinden Walch and Talla Strong.
