Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery had a very dramatic love affair on screen, but off screen she has made her relationship with producer and talent manager Jasper Wallerbridge very quiet and peaceful. The British couple ran in many of the same circles in London before being linked in 2019 and quickly got engaged.
Dockery previously worked with John Dineen, Director of Public Affairs, Ireland, who passed away before her wedding in 2016.
“I’ve never lost hope,” she shared. “No. I’m not exaggerating John once, saying it empowered us. That’s what you’re continuing. That positivity doesn’t lose any miraculous hope. I couldn’t do it otherwise.

The pair were first linked in 2019 after being introduced by Mutual Friends. They both attended the Rome Film Festival in late 2019, but Dockery walked the red carpet alone.
January 2022
In early 2022, their engagement was officially announced in the Times, with “engagements being announced between Jasper, son of Michael Waller Bridge in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and Jasper, son of Theresa Waller Bridge in London, Michael Dockellie, Michelle and Michelle, Michael Dockellie, at Geedee Park, Essex.”
April 2022
They made their red carpet debut for the premiere of Dockery’s Anatomy Scandal in the Netflix series.
That same month they walked the red carpet for the premiere of Downton Abbey: a new era.
July 2022
They participated on the seventh day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championship at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Crockett Club on July 3rd.
September 2023
The couple married in September 2023 at St. Nicholas Church in Chiswick, west London. They invited guests to the reception at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.
Dockery wore a satin white gown by Emilia Wicksted, while Waller Bridge was wearing a blue three-piece suit. Guests include Laura Carmichael, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Martin MacDonagh, Lily James, Joanne Froggutt, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Leslie Manville and Leslie Nicole, Imelda Stanton and Jim Carter. Carmichael played his sister Edith Crowley at Downton Abbey before serving as a bridesmaid at Dockery’s wedding party.

On Valentine’s Day, the couple was seen at the BFI Chairman’s dinner, which was their first appearance since their marriage.
September 2025
On September 3rd, Dockery walked alongside Waller Bridge on the London red carpet for the world premiere of the film Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. Her form-fit blue dress revealed that the couple expects their first child together.
