On July 22nd, Venus Williams confirmed his engagement to model and actor Andrea Pretti. “My fiancé is here. He really encouraged me to continue playing,” Williams said in a post-game interview.
Venus Williams has a lot to celebrate. On July 22, the tennis star defeated 23-year-old Payton Stearns in a singles match on the Women’s Tennis Association Tour, becoming the oldest player to secure a victory since Martina Navratirova, who was 47 in 2004. 45-year-old Williams has also announced his engagement to Andrea Pretti. The couple has maintained a relatively private relationship up until now.
In a post-match interview, she was called “engaged woman” and asked how Andrea made a difference in her life. “Yes, my fiancé is here,” she replied in applause from the crowd. “He really encouraged me to continue playing, there were many times when I wanted to just run a coast and go through the cold… he encouraged me to get through this.
When the interviewer said, “Wow, I think he’s a charm of good fortune,” Williams agreed.
First, get to know her fiancé, Andrea Plety.
He is a model and actor.
Preti, 37, was born in Denmark on June 6, 1988 and grew up in Italy. While in Italy, he fell in love with fashion and became a model. He then moved to New York and studied acting at Susan Batson Studios. Notable alumni of the NYC Academy include Nicole Kidman, Juliet Binoche and Lavern Cox. Since then he has appeared in Productions like More One More Day (he wrote, directed and starred).
Preti and Williams have been quietly dating since 2024.
In July 2024, the couple was photographed for the first time while on a holiday in Nerano, Italy. And in February they sparked engagement rumours when Williams was found wearing an engagement ring during a training session in Rome.
They only made one big public appearance together. This year they took part in the fall/winter 2025 show during Milan Fashion Week.
Preti had previously dated another tennis player.
Preti was previously associated with Susanna Giovanardi, a 26-year-old Italian tennis player. Last April they attended the Challenger Premier in Rome.
He supported Williams in the 2025 US Open.
On August 25, Pretti was cheering for Williams at Arthur Ash Stadium in his first round singles match against Carolina Mciba.
