It’s not a paper ring.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce co-announced their engagement on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing photos of the romantic garden proposals and a close-up of the superstar’s stunning diamond ring.
Her old mine brilliant sparkler is co-designed by Artifex Fine and Kelce’s own jeweller Kindred Lubeck, and the Page 6 style can be viewed exclusively.
Characterized by hand-cut and cushion-like shapes, round corners and thick facets, old mining cut diamonds were particularly popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. The two aren’t similar.
“I’m Goldsmith, who specializes in hand sculpture (think of it as tattooing; many people confuse sculpture with ‘etching’),’ said Lebeck, a native of Florida, told Voyage Jacksonville in 2024.
“Essentially, I take a very small, sharp instrument and usually cut out small pieces of metal on the side of the ring into a specific design.”
To match her artistic traits, the yellow gold band of Swift’s ring featured detailed sculptures that added to the charm of its old world.
Currently available on the Artifex Fine website, Lubeck designed rings range from $4,300 to $38,000 for Signet Styles, up to $38,000 for the 5.02 carat old mine cognac diamond design with North Star motifs. However, GEM experts say Kelce’s custom committee is worth up to $1 million thanks to its large center stone.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are married,” Swift and Kelse captioned their posts.
In a magical moment, the 14-time Grammy Award winner wore striped silk Polora Floren dresses, cognac-colored Louis Vuitton sandals and a diamond-studded Cartier Santos De Moiselle watch.
Kansas City’s chief tight end was coordinated with a two-year partner in the Navy Polora Floren Knit.
Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023, when soccer pros tried (and failed) to pass (and failed) a pop icon on one of their ERAS tours in Kansas City.
They have since supported Kelse in many of his games (and two Super Bowls!) and have been making cameos that have been on stage in London, with Kelse taking ERAS tours in multiple countries and making cameos that took place in London.
