Hulu has greenlit three mega-scale “Futurama” specials in addition to the show’s upcoming season 14, with the series’ executive producers and cast revealed Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con.
During a Comic-Con morning panel featuring creator Matt Groening, showrunner and head writer David X. Cohen, and other cast and crew members, the Futurama team released a trailer for season 14, which will air again on Monday, August 3. They also shared details about three feature-length “Futurama” specials (dubbed “XXXL Size”) currently in production and scheduled to launch in 2027 with a Christmas-themed edition.
Here is the logline for season 14: “Brace yourself…the future is about to get downright weird! It’s a nonstop onslaught of swaggering space pirates, lab-grown meat, and sexy deceptions…plus the shocking return of Dr. Zoidberg’s lost love! You never saw it coming until you were told about it now! Hulu’s thrilling all-new season of Futurama!”
“Futurama” Season 14 premieres Monday, Aug. 3 with two new episodes on Hulu, which streams new episodes every Monday on Disney+ (for bundle subscribers) and Disney+ International. Here’s the trailer:
