Actor, director and producer Giancarlo Esposito has signed a full-scale representation deal with United Talent Agency.
Mr. Esposito previously served as president of CAA. The prolific star is set to appear in several projects in the coming months, including Noah Segan’s The Only Alive Pickpocket in New York, co-starring John Turturro, Steve Buscemi and Tatiana Maslany. The film, which premiered at Sundance, will be released in theaters on October 16th through Sony Pictures Classics.
Esposito will next be seen alongside Mahershala Ali in Orion Pictures’ Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother. He reappears as Uncle Stan in season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen. He was the voice of Universal Pictures’ animated version of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat. His other credits include Kill Me, Paramount Pictures’ historical crime thriller By Any Means, Lionsgate’s Death by Overwork (co-starring Cynthia Erivo and Bill Camp), and All the Sinners Bleed, the Netflix adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s novel.
Esposito, a six-time Emmy nominee, is perhaps best known for playing the cool-headed drug lord Gus Fring on AMC’s Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul. Esposito also won two Critics Choice Awards. His film work includes Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, Bryan Singer’s The Usual Suspects, Forest Whitaker’s Waiting to Exhale, Sian Heder’s CODA, Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, and Ti West’s MaXXXine.
Esposito has appeared in Captain America: Brave New World, Netflix’s The Electric State (based on the story by Anthony and Joe Russo), Shondaland’s The Residence, Poker Face, and The Boys, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award for guest starring roles.
Esposito executive produced and starred in AMC’s “Parish,” directed an acclaimed episode of “Better Call Saul,” and won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series. Other accolades include the Hollywood Creative Alliance’s TV Icon Award and Best Supporting Actor Award for “Better Call Saul,” and a Saturn Award nomination for “Breaking Bad.”
