Variety magazine’s annual “Faith and Media Influence Report” will be released on December 2nd. The list recognizes a thriving sector of the entertainment industry, including storytellers across the religious spectrum who are providing engaging and creative experiences featuring faith and spirituality to a wide range of audiences.
The Faith and Media Influence Report is comprised of directors, writers, creators, studio executives and others working across the entertainment industry and recognizes those who have made their mark over the past year through authentic and accurate coverage and storytelling across the world’s major faiths and spiritualities.
Past Faith & Media Impact Report winners include Mo Amer and Ramy Youssef. Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Jason Momoa and Thomas Parr Sibet. Hannah Bos and Paul Tureen. Spike Lee and Denzel Washington. Mike Flanagan, Smriti Mandla, Brad Inglesby, Rian Johnson.
The 2026 list will be featured in the Dec. 2 issue of Variety magazine and honored at the 3rd Annual Variety Faith and Spirituality in Entertainment Honor Awards, sponsored by the Faith and Media Coalition.
Additionally, the ceremony will recognize individuals who support the often underrepresented themes of faith and spirituality in entertainment storytelling with the CFAM’s 2026 Visionary Award. These awards celebrate diverse depictions of faith and spirituality that are broad, compelling, and nuanced.
Past Visionary Award winners include Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, Bridget Everett, Erica Lipes, Tiffany Haddish, Ariane Moayed, Zahn McClarnon, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Jay Shetty.
