Martin Snow, a boxing trainer to the stars whose celebrity sparring partners include Kit Harington, Ansel Elgort and Leah McSweeney, told Page Six that he was viciously attacked by a wannabe influencer inside his Financial District gym.
Superhero-obsessed Instagrammer Benjamin Hardy was arrested on Monday afternoon for allegedly breaking Snow’s nose in a scuffle, and one of Snow’s staff members also spent the night in a cell over a bust-up.
The longtime owner of Trinity Boxing Club said Mr Hardy, Manosphere influencer Sonny Faz and a third man arrived at the gym on Vesey Street around 1pm to film content for their social media channels.
But when Snow said he couldn’t use his gym as a movie set, Hardy headbutted him and sent him to the hospital with a broken nose.
Mr Hardy, on the other hand, claimed he only yelled abuse because “four men” were “holding him down”. He declined further comment without consulting a lawyer.
When we asked Snow why he didn’t fight back, the 1985 Golden Gloves super heavyweight finalist said, “I would have crushed him. I can’t beat him.”
New York City police announced that Hardy was arrested on suspicion of assault and trespassing. He has already been charged and has pleaded not guilty to both charges, according to documents reviewed by Page Six.
Snow, who founded the gym in 1997, became a familiar face to Bravo fans after appearing on The Real Housewives of New York City as McSweeney’s boxing coach.
The boxer said one of the gym’s longtime trainers heard the scuffle and “punched one of the fighters.”
The trainer was also arrested and spent the night at a local police station. Fuzz did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment. We were unable to contact the third man in their group.
