“Rivals” star Hudson Williams said this to a group of autograph hounds who followed him to a private residence in Paris for autographs. The confrontation was captured in a video that was shared on social media on Monday and is now going viral.
When Williams got out of the car, someone handed him a photo and asked him to autograph it. Mr. Williams was visibly upset and told them, “Guys, you just followed me to my residence.” According to Variety, the location is the actor’s temporary apartment while he is in Paris.
When the group tried to apologize for following him, Williams snatched the photo out of their hands and said, “No, I’m sorry. You can’t do that. This is really weird, okay? You can’t do this. This is so weird. You guys aren’t fans. You’re really creepy and you just followed me, okay? You don’t do this. You don’t do this.”
Williams tries to burn the photo with a lighter, but it won’t burn. Then he said, “I’m going to burn this in the house. Get out now, you really have dementia. No, I’m sorry, get out. I want to watch over you. Hop on your little bike.”
One supportive fan commented on the video: “Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you have a right to privacy. Stop normalizing stalking and call it what it is. Let’s live people.”
Another fan commented: “I feel so bad for him. He’s being treated like a zoo animal! He deserves to be able to roam free without being harassed.”
This isn’t the first time Williams has confronted fans about inappropriate behavior. In March, he and Rivals co-star Francois Arnault posted a double statement on Instagram, slamming viewers who posted hateful comments on their castmates’ social media accounts.
“If you share racist, homophobic, biphobic, misogynist, ageist, ableist, sociopathic, bigoted comments of any kind, please don’t call yourself a fan,” the statement reads. “None of us need your hateful ‘love’.”
