Kate Gosselin won’t take her estranged son Colin’s request to take a lie detector test.
On Monday, the 51-year-old responded to a comment on TikTok about a national plea she made to the US Sun for her child in 2025, a year before she released her shocking memoir.
“If you are 100% sure that the accusations against you are false, my suggestion is to take him to court and sue him for defamation!” one social media user advised Gosselin.
She replied, “I can’t say that I’m a public figure. Unfortunately, the rules are different. Otherwise, I definitely would!”
The reality star doubled down in another comment, writing, “Malingering is one of the hardest things to prove. I tried that :(. The rules are different for people in public places.
“Years ago, when other people were putting out crazy things, I went to a high-powered lawyer in Los Angeles (you’ve probably heard of him) and he said yes,” Gosselin continued. “If you’re in a public place, the court won’t respect that :(”
When another fan asked if she would take the test, the “John & Kate Plus 8” alum joked, “Ha!”
Gosselin’s interactions with her followers took place specifically in the comments section of videos documenting her rescue dog’s journey.
The “Kate Plus Date” alum didn’t mention Colin in her upload.
The 22-year-old announced last week that his revealing book, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, will be published in October.
“Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the most difficult moments in my life, but it also gave me something I had been searching for for a long time: my own voice,” he wrote at the time. “This is not a story that people think they know. This is a story that I have lived.”
Corinne also lashed out at Kate, calling her father Jon Gosselin’s ex Colleen Conrad her “real mother.”
He also shared an article he had uploaded about the bombshell book on The Post’s Instagram account via Stories, emphasizing the comment that “what is done in the dark always comes to light.”
Colin has spoken out in recent years about allegations that he was abused by his mother, and his past statements have resurfaced following the release of his memoir.
In an October 2025 interview with the US Sun, Colin claimed that Kate kept him in the basement with zip ties around his wrists and ankles, and brought up a lie detector test.
“I would like to invite my mother to take a lie detector test,” he said. “Mom, if you’re listening to this, that’s one of your questions. I’m going to ask you about zip ties.”
Colin has been living with his father Jon Gosselin since 2018 and is estranged from his sister Hannah, as well as his other sextuplets Arden, Joel, Alexis, Leah, and 25-year-old twin sisters Madeline and Cara.
