Kate Gosselin didn’t seem concerned about her son Colin’s upcoming revelations about his turbulent childhood in a new TikTok video she posted on Sunday.
The former “John & Kate Plus 8” star gave an update on her rescue dog, Koda, and her other dog, Meika, in her video. Completely ignoring the fact that Colin has made headlines with his new memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.”
“There’s a really cute video of Koda and his trainer’s kids. They’re so cute,” she said, seeming to be in good spirits while Koda was away after training.
She also gave an update on the weather, saying it was “very hot and humid.”
“Anyway, have a great day and enjoy the video. I don’t think there’s more than 10 days left until Koda comes back.”
she told her followers: “can’t wait.”
Colin, 22, is promoting his memoir, which promises to share “the never-before-told story of how[Colin]escaped and found his way back from the darkness,” according to a description shared by his publisher.
The book revisits Colin, who was “bound and forced into a basement where he hid for years and a cocktail of powerful anti-psychotic drugs as an 11-year-old boy.”
Colin has continued to attack his mother on social media ahead of the publication of his memoir on October 13th. On Sunday, he posted to his Instagram Stories a throwback clip of him talking about Kate in an interview, writing: “This was a year ago and my mom got mad at me again…” with a crying-laughing emoji.
In the video, Colin says: “This is a formal invitation to her to the hospital. Like the day she literally took me out of the house. She had her friend in the ambulance pick me up.”
“But I’m not going to say much about this, because I’m putting everything I’m writing into an exposé, and I’m going to explain every little thing in detail.”
He continued, “I want to invite my mom to a lie detector test. … I want to find out everything. … She’s been putting up this facade to the media for a long time, even before TikTok.”
Kate is “in a vicious cycle” ahead of her son’s memoir, the Daily Mail reported on Saturday.
“Kate had no idea this book was in the works,” a source told the publication, noting that Kate has not spoken to Colin since she institutionalized him as a child.
“She never expected something like this to happen. Now she’s in a spiral because she knows it’s going to hurt her fans,” they continued.
In addition to Colin, Kate, 51, and ex-husband John, 49, are parents to sextuplets Arden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah, and twins Carla and Madeline, 25.
The family rose to fame on the TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which aired from 2007 to 2017.
John and Kate split in 2009 after 10 years of marriage. In 2018, John gained sole custody of Colin.
Colin has accused Kate of “child abuse and child exploitation” for years, which Kate denies. Her lawyer told the US Sun in September 2024 that she didn’t believe Kate had done anything to “deliberately harm” Colin, and that Kate “did everything to protect herself and her family” from her son’s “questionable behavior.”
