After two years of rumors, actress Reese Witherspoon officially attended the red carpet with her boyfriend and investor Oliver Herrmann. The two started dating in 2024. It comes about a year after she and ex-husband Jim Toth announced plans to divorce after 12 years of marriage.
“After much care and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple said in a statement. “We have had many wonderful years together and move forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for all we have created together…Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we move forward with this next chapter. These issues are never easy and are deeply personal. We sincerely thank everyone for respecting our family’s privacy at this time.”
The former couple have one son, Tennessee, 11. Witherspoon has two children, daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20, from her marriage to ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
In August 2023, Witherspoon spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about the differences between her two marriages and how they ended.
“As much as I get to talk directly to people about what’s going on in my life and share great professional and personal experiences, it feels so much more authentic to be able to share that and say it in my own voice and not let others control what’s going on,” she said. “Of course there’s speculation, but I can’t control that. All I can do is be my most honest, open and vulnerable self.”

In July 2024, actress Reese Witherspoon had dinner with private equity investor Oliver Haarmann after arriving in New York City by helicopter the night before. Rumors of their relationship spread after they were photographed dining at L’Artusi in the West Village.
A source told People at the time that Witherspoon and Haarman are “friends.”
Another source said the actress has been “taking it slow when it comes to dating” since splitting from ex-husband Jim Toth.
“She enjoys it, but doesn’t want it to be a big focus. She’s busy with work and her son,” they continued. “Those are her biggest priorities.”

The couple were spotted cuddling on a yacht in Saint-Tropez.

They were spotted leaving the Barbican Center hand in hand in London after watching the movie “Goodnight, Oscar” starring Sean Hayes.
That same month, a source told People that Witherspoon is “in a really good place right now,” both personally and professionally.
“Her relationship with Oliver is very special to her,” they added. “He’s not interested in the Hollywood spotlight. He’s there for her.”
June 2026
On June 23, 2026, the two made their red carpet debut as a couple. Haarman was Witherspoon’s date to the world premiere of her new show “Elle” in New York City. The series serves as a prequel to her hit film Legally Blonde.
A few days later, a source told People magazine that Witherspoon “still loves living in Nashville as her home,” but has been “going back and forth to New York” to see Haarman.
“She likes that he’s away from the entertainment world. He’s very motivated about his career and that works out really well for Reese, who likes to stay busy and focused,” the source said. “They’re a lot of fun to be around and things are going really well between them.”
