Ariana Grande was seen spending time with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez in a video posted online. They were seated together for lunch in Austin, Texas, on Grande’s birthday. Rumors of getting back together started circulating, but the two are reportedly just friends.
A video of Ariana Grande and ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez has started circulating on social media. The song was reportedly recorded in Austin, Texas, on Friday, June 26, Grande’s 33rd birthday, just before Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour in the city.
The sighting has sparked rumors of a reconciliation, but sources told TMZ that Grande had invited some friends to the city to celebrate her birthday, including Alvarez, and nothing else happened.
Another source told People only that “they’ve been hanging out together lately.”
Grande and Alvarez dated for about a year in 2015, and since then, she has publicly dated Mac Miller, Pete Davidson and Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, following a brief marriage to real estate developer Dalton Gomez. It was confirmed that Slater and Grande had broken up earlier this month.
Grande and Alvarez appear to have remained friendly over the past decade, even though Alvarez was not mentioned in her 2018 hit song “Thank U Next.” At the time of the song’s release, he shared a clip of himself listening to it on his Instagram Stories, reacting to the line: “I wrote some songs about Ricky and now I listen to them and laugh.”
“I have nothing but gratitude,” Alvarez wrote in a subsequent post. “Thank you, next…(those songs are amazing…but you’re welcome)”
グランデは両方のストーリーを再共有し、「ハハハハハハハ、最悪のセリフを言ってしまってごめんなさい。愛情を込めて言ったのです。」とコメントした。
During a performance of the song on June 26, Grande changed course, singing, “I wrote some songs about Ricky, I know he still has my back,” and at another show, she sang, “I wrote some songs about Ricky, and now they’re still kinda slapping.”
