Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee has signed an expanded exclusive overall deal with BET Studios.
Under the multi-year deal, which extends his deal with the network in 2022, the comedian will develop, produce, write and star in original programming across BET’s platforms and the broader Paramount umbrella. Pat can also sell content to third-party studios.
The deal includes Ms. Pat’s existing work, including her scripted comedy “The Ms. Pat Show,” which was recently renewed for a sixth season.
BET announced the news and also revealed that Season 3B of the comic book courtroom series “Ms. Pat Settles It” will premiere on June 30th. The jurors for the next 10 episodes include Carmen Barton, DeRay Davis, Carlos Miller, NeNe Leakes, Jasmine Brown, Safaree Samuels, Nav Green and other celebrities.
“Pat is one of the most unique voices working in television today, and the expansion of our partnership reflects both the strength of what she has created to date and our confidence in what lies ahead. We are proud to offer her a broad platform both at and beyond BET,” said Aisha Summers Burke, EVP and Head of Creative, BET Studios.
“At BET, we pride ourselves on championing the voices that move our culture forward. Pat is one of those voices, bold, authentic and deeply rooted in the lived experiences of our community. We’re proud to give her an even greater platform to tell the stories that connect us all,” said Louis Carr, president of BET.
“BET gave me a chance at a time when my stories were messy, loud and unapologetically me,” Pat said. “This deal means I can continue to tell the truth, continue to build, and continue to make a place for people who have never seen themselves on screen. I’m just getting started!”
Ms. Patt is repped by IAG, Tigerman Management and Reed Smith.
