Bailey Zimmerman is facing a felony charge for allegedly ransacking a hotel room.
Page Six can confirm that the country musician was charged in New Mexico on May 27 with misdemeanor charges of fraudulently obtaining services, as well as criminal damage to property (over $1,000).
A warrant for his arrest was issued on June 18th.
The alleged incident occurred on the same night that the singer, currently on the “Different Night Same Rodeo” tour, canceled a show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
At the time, the “Fall in Love” singer shared on Instagram that she was “not feeling well” and would need time to recover.
“As you all know, there is nothing I love more than being on the road and playing shows for you all,” he wrote at the time. “So, it pains me to have to say this, but we have to reschedule our shows for tonight (5/27) and Saturday (5/30).
I wasn’t feeling well, and I tried my best to get through it, but I wasn’t able to give you all the performance you deserved. I don’t want to let everyone down and I was really looking forward to the show, but I have to take care of myself so I can come back stronger,” he continued.
He reassured fans that all tickets would be “in honor of the new dates” and thanked them for their “prayers and understanding.”
However, according to an affidavit obtained by TMZ, the 26-year-old was scheduled to perform at the amphitheater at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, but hotel security said he appeared to be intoxicated the entire evening.
Authorities say he was stumbling, falling and acting belligerent on stage during sound check. He also reportedly threw equipment around on stage.
After he finished soundcheck, he returned to the resort and canceled the show, but the resort kicked him out because of his behavior, according to the affidavit.
He allegedly refused to leave on a bus provided by the resort, and the hotel eventually called police. He was eventually taken from the premises and when cleaning crews entered his room, they found it destroyed.
Notably, many fans in the comments section of Zimmerman’s announcement were quick to criticize Zimmerman for canceling his May 27 show with just an hour’s notice.
“Next time, why don’t you post this within an hour of the show being scheduled to start? 😂,” one person wrote.
“I’m a huge fan of yours, but you did the dirty thing to us (in New Mexico) by canceling 40 minutes before showtime, like everyone traveling and everything,” added another disappointed fan.
Others pointed out that he had previously canceled performances on short notice.
Page Six has reached out to Zimmerman’s representatives for comment.
