Duchess Kate and Prince William made a grand appearance at Trooping the Color 2026 on Saturday, alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Middleton looked elegant in a powder blue Catherine Walker dress and matching wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat, bringing a touch of sophistication to the royal procession celebrating the monarch’s birthday at Buckingham Palace.
She completed her look with Cassandra Gordo pearl floral burst earrings. The earrings were worn at the inauguration of the new Archbishop of Canterbury earlier this year, and first debuted at the christening of his youngest son Prince Louis in 2018, Town and Country reported.
Middleton was photographed riding in a horse-drawn carriage with her children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8.
King Charles and Queen Camilla also rode in a carriage wearing matching red ceremonial costumes, with King Charles wearing a decorated military uniform and Camilla wearing a red coat dress and a feathered naval hat.
Prince William, Prince Edward and Princess Anne all rode in the back of the King’s carriage on horseback to take part in the traditional royal procession through central London.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who famously quit their duties as working members of the royal family in 2020 after falling out with their families, once again skipped the event, choosing to spend time at their home in Southern California.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his royal titles last year, also did not attend.
Prince Harry and Markle last attended the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee event in 2022, but instead of taking part in the horse-drawn carriage procession or appearing on the balcony, they watched the military parade from the balcony with other non-working royals.
After leaving the royal family and moving to Montecito, California, the couple expanded their family to include Princess Lilibet, now 5, and Prince Archie, now 7.
Despite his rocky relationship with the royal family, Prince Harry, who recently celebrated eight years of dating Markle, hopes to bring his wife and children to the UK in the coming weeks, where he hopes to promote the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
However, sources told Page Six that she has no intention of meeting Prince William amid the ongoing rift.
The Prince and Princess of Wales looked equally chic at last year’s event, with Ms Middleton, 44, wearing a sharply tailored aquamarine blue look alongside Princess Charlotte’s tonal flutter-sleeve dress.
Prince Louis and Prince George attended the traditional celebration in dark suits and red ties, while Prince William, 43, wore a red jacket with royal formal wear, which was almost identical to his father’s red coat.
Queen Camilla, on the other hand, opted for a white look with a white fascinator.
Middleton rode in the royal carriage with her three children at a summer event and at one point was seen sharing a laugh with them.
Middleton’s appearance on Trooping the Color last year came months after she announced she was in remission after going public with her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
Trooping the Color commemorates Charles III’s birthday, which actually falls on November 14th, and is celebrated with appearances by members of the royal family on the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony.
Prince Middleton and Prince William’s appearance on Trooping the Color comes after the couple met ex Rupert Finch at a family wedding last weekend.
The former lovers, along with their respective spouses, attended the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling in the Cotswolds.
Prince William is Prince Phillips’ cousin.
King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and Phillips’ sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall also attended the church wedding.
Middleton and Finch (who has since married Mrs Natasha Rufus Isaacs) briefly dated in 2001, when they were both attending St Andrew’s.
Middleton famously caught Prince William’s eye at a fashion show in 2002 and continued to date him until they married in 2011.
