According to the official description, “Adults” “depicts a group of New York 20-somethings who rely on each other to navigate love, work, friendship, and family. Samir (Malik Elassar), Billy (Lucy Frayer), and Paul Baker (Jack Inanen)… ), Issa (Amita Rao), and Anton (Owen Seale) are five friends who stay together in Samir’s childhood home. Created by Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw, the show takes a generational perspective on the triumphs, losses, and humiliations of being in your 20s.
In the next season, the group will tackle a new set of questions: “What if the 20-year-old who took over your fake identity is cooler than you were and will always be? How do you explain to your friends that you really love your boring office job? Why do you revert to your worst self when you’re with your family? And how do you ask for change when you wish everything would stay the same?” Together, the friends weave an intricate web of multiplayer strategies to simply evade.” They devise elaborate workarounds to problems they’re too afraid to face head-on. It’s not so much that they keep learning the same lessons, but rather that they keep finding new ways to make mistakes.
“Adults” is executive produced by Kronengold, Shaw, Nick Kroll, Sara Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, Alicia Van Coeverling and Rob Rothell. “Adult” is produced by FX Productions.
