Dorit Kemsley and Erika Jayne’s friendship recently took a new turn after their infamous big fight in Italy.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 49, shared a positive update about her friendship with Jane, 54, on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio on Wednesday. Kemsley, who stopped by during a press conference for her new memoir Unburdened, told hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real that their relationship is much better now.
Kemsley said she first contacted Jayne about her legal issues and she responded immediately. A few weeks later, Jane contacted me and we talked about meeting in person.
“There’s a lot of love there,” she said. “There’s a lot of love and there’s a lot of history.”
“You know, until that moment in Italy, Erica and I had never exchanged crosswords,” she continued. “We’ve always gotten along well.”
Kemsley said there were a lot of emotions during the fight and said the past few years have been difficult for her, given her public divorce from PK Kemsley and issues with fellow RHOBH star Kyle Richards.
“I thought we had really turned a corner,” she said of her tumultuous friendship with Richards. “So I felt that and I felt giddy. That’s exactly how Erica felt in Italy.”
Mr Kemsley explained that he had been in Jayne’s room until 2am the night before the fight and that there had been no problems between them.
“And then the next day, out of nowhere in this run-down town, I think her intention was to bring Kyle and me together, but it felt like an (ambush),” she said.
Kemry, Jayne, and Richards had a huge fight on Season 15 of RHOBH that spilled over into the reunion. The fight started when Jayne called out Kemsley for being late to dinner in Italy and keeping the group waiting, and the fight then turned very personal.
Kemsley ended up calling Jayne a “ct” before storming out of dinner.
In December, Richards, 57, told Us Weekly that she and Jayne had not yet spoken to Kemsley.
“Erica and I haven’t talked to Dorit, and vice versa, because of all the chaos on the cast trip,” Richards said. “She has no tolerance for listening to you. Once she has something in her head, that’s it.”
“It’s really frustrating trying to have a conversation with her. Unfortunately, as we tried to resolve the issue, it was like two steps forward, three steps back.”
Kemsley’s literary debut, Unburdened, is in bookstores now.
