Heather McComb, ex-wife of the late James Van Der Beek, announced on Sunday that she has remarried actor Scott Michael Campbell.
McComb shared photos from their big day on Instagram, including an outdoor ceremony in Montana. Details included the bride wearing sparkling white cowboy boots and socks that read “I (Heart) My Husband.”
It’s clear she had an eventful time at the wedding, as she later posted a photo of her dirty socks and replaced silver and white sneakers.
“Yesterday, @scottmichaelcampbell and I were officially married by God’s covenant, by my beautiful sister @essence_says, in our favorite city, Missoula Montana, surrounded by the people we love most in the world,” McComb wrote. “Our hearts are filled and humbled by all the love that has surrounded us. God is truly good.”
Additionally, she thanked everyone who helped plan the wedding, adding, “Thank you to all of our family and friends who came with us from all over the country. Thank you to Jesus, the miracle worker who made the way!”
“You all created a special and truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We sit here and count our many blessings.”
Campbell, 54, also posted a photo from the wedding on Instagram, writing, “So happy to have married the beautiful soul @heatmccomb and had the most amazing week ❤️❤️ Thank you to all our friends and family and all our new friends and family!”
McComb, 49, was married to Van Der Beek from 2003 to 2010. He married his second wife, Kimberly, later that year.
The couple went on to have six children: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 14, Annabel Lea, 12, Emilia, 10, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4.
Van der Beek passed away in February after a battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48 years old.
McComb paid tribute to the “Dawson’s Creek” alum after his death, saying she was “heartbroken” over his death.
“I am especially heartbroken for his wonderful wife Kimberly, his beautiful children, and his wonderful family, Jim, Jared, Julianna, and all of his family and friends that I know he loved deeply,” she wrote on Instagram.
“James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love for God that shone through him,” she said. “He was so brilliant, but so humble and human. Always exploring, always growing, always going deeper, always pursuing things outside of his comfort zone.”
