Jamie Lee Curtis paid tribute to her sister Kelly Curtis after her death by sharing a never-before-seen photo.
On Saturday, the “Freaky Friday” actress took to Instagram to share a photoroll of black-and-white images of her and Kelly posing together.
Jamie captioned the post: “December 17, 1984, the night before my wedding, my sister Kelly, who was my maid of honor, came to my apartment and stayed the night.”
“My sister and I were close as children, but there was a time when we fought as siblings for the attention and affection of our divorced parents. We were very different and lived apart for years. But my sister came back with me for my wedding and we never left again,” she added.
The Oscar winner, 67, said her sister Kelly has become part of James Lee’s “family structure”, working for her “in between jobs”.
“I miss her today, but I take heart knowing she is at peace,” she concluded.
Several celebrities sent love to Jamie in the comments section during this difficult time for the family.
“Beautiful ♥️,” Jennifer Garner wrote.
“The second to last photo is so sweet and beautiful,” Rita Wilson added.
Earlier Saturday, the “Halloween” star announced that her sister Kelly had passed away. She was 69 years old.
“Warm aloha to my sister Kelly Lee Curtis,” Jamie wrote on Instagram, alongside a black and white photo of her sister smoking a cigarette while getting her hair done.
The actress wrote that her sister passed away “peacefully, at home, in nature, this morning.”
“She was my first friend and my best friend for life,” the “True Lies” star added, noting that Kelly was “an amazingly beautiful and talented actress.”
