Britney Spears has opened up about her “emotional issues” following her DUI arrest and stint in rehab.
The “Oops, I Did It Again” songstress took to Instagram in a since-deleted post to reflect on her “interesting” year and said she was experiencing a surge of emotions in the kitchen.
“A lot of emotional issues happen in the kitchen,” she wrote in a long text uploaded. “I don’t know why…I guess it’s normal for us to get together as a family to celebrate, pray, and cook.”
She also said she “did some crafts there.” The Grammy Award-winning hitmaker recalls once staying up all night painting and making stained glass lamps. It gave her “the most peaceful feeling” and she remained holed up in the kitchen for three months.
The “…Baby One More Time” hitmaker wrote that he was “fell in love” with his work.
“Okay, I got a badly broken lamp made from pieces of shattered glass to create light… But I found myself wanting to go to the kitchen after years of not wanting to go… I looked forward to going to the kitchen in the middle of the night to eat cereal and snacks… It was a very low-key and unique thing for me,” she wrote.
She seemed devastated when her housekeeper “accidentally” threw away her favorite piece, but wrote that she was “used to people taking things away from[her].”
Elsewhere in the post, Spears, 44, wrote, “I’ve never done so much arts and crafts.”
A representative for the singer did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Friday.
The pop star’s social media thoughts come more than two months after her March 4 DUI arrest for allegedly driving “erratically” in Ventura County, California.
Later, in footage from the scene, the singer was seen failing a field sobriety test, claiming he had only had one mimosa that day.
The police report also revealed that the singer claimed to have taken several prescription drugs, including Adderall, Lamictal, and Prozac.
Spears entered a rehab facility the following month and is said to be “doing much better” after leaving the facility in late April.
“She is healthy, happy, very positive and excited to start anew,” a source told Page Six at the time. “Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself.”
Her lawyer Michael Goldstein appeared in court on her behalf earlier this month to accept the “reckless” offer for the singer.
The mother-of-two is expected to complete a three-month alcohol school training and receive a one-year informal trial grant.
In April, after being released from rehab, one source said Spears was “looking forward to a bright future,” while another claimed she was “continuing counseling remotely.”
