Zendaya brings a part of herself to her on-screen “Euphoria” character.
In a video for Elle Magazine, the actress revealed that some of Lou Bennett’s everyday looks were actually created by Zendaya’s biological mother.
“There are two rings that she wears on these two fingers,” she said, holding up her right index and middle fingers. “That was my mother’s ring.”
The gemstones are vintage, one a pear-shaped citrine and the other a round kyanite, both set in silver.
And while it was widely reported that the rings were sourced from vintage markets years ago, Zendaya’s jewelry designer mother Claire Stormer creates similar pieces with her line Kismet Jewelry.
By coincidence or choice, Zendaya happened to wear both of these sentimental rings during the pilot episode of the HBO hit, and they became part of Ru’s everlasting look.
“It’s incredibly unpredictable, but I think it’s also very consistent in the way she presents herself to the world,” Zendaya reflects on continuing her on-screen character.
“She likes to be comfortable with herself and stay in her comfort zone. That’s why it’s the same shoes, the same hair, the same tank top,” she added.
She added that although she may self-profess to have a slightly limited wardrobe, “I have a little archive, like all her clothes, so I have everything she wore on the show.”
The Season 3 finale will air on Sunday, May 31st at 9pm on HBO.
