At 52, Victoria Beckham finally looked in the mirror and was happy.
“I’ve spent most of my life feeling like I wasn’t good enough and didn’t like the way I looked,” the beauty mogul told the Times.
“I think the great thing about getting older is that I’ve learned to embrace the way I look,” she continued. “Honestly, it’s better than the alternative.”
That’s why, even though the former Spice Girl runs a successful cosmetics company, you’ll never see her label her products as “anti-aging.”
Beckham said it was just a “good marketing line,” adding, “I don’t think buzz can stop the aging process, right? Unless I’m missing something. So I think it’s pretty negative.”
Although she believes women should embrace the aging process, the style star is known for her makeup tutorials and dedicated workout regimen on social media.
“I work harder now than I did when I was 20 or 30,” Beckham said of his gym sessions.
“I don’t think you have to give up just because you’re 50. That doesn’t mean you have to compromise. You can still look beautiful.”
The mother of four, who has spent more than 30 years under intense scrutiny over her appearance, believes that “the great thing about getting older is that you stop worrying about what other people think,” adding, “Now I can own my story.”
A few weeks ago, Beckham proudly revealed that his 14-year-old daughter Harper is following in his footsteps and working on her own skincare line.
“She loves fashion and she loves beauty,” Posh said of Harper at the Time 100 Summit in April.
