Russell Crowe has issued a stern warning to fans who gathered outside his Paris hotel to get autographs.
The 62-year-old “Gladiator” star recently gave autograph hunters a set of rules, warning them he’d abandon an impromptu handshake if even one person acted like a “dk.”
“Are you listening?” Qrow asked. “Stay there and don’t lunge at me. I’ll come to you. Give everyone space.”
“If someone gets carried away, I’ll be gone in a heartbeat,” the actor continued. “Did you catch me?”
Crowe’s exchange went viral, sparking debate over whether the A-lister got too heated. However, many X users came to his defense.
One X user wrote, “I don’t blame him. Those guys are vultures who don’t consider anyone but themselves. Good for him. There are boundaries.”
“This honestly seemed pretty fair from Russell’s point of view? He set boundaries, stayed and signed. What’s the problem?” asked another.
“He had a clear line of demarcation with the crowd,” said a third person. “People were pushing pretty aggressively, but he still took some time to sign autographs for fans.”
Crowe was in Paris with his girlfriend Brittney Theriot, 42, and attended the opening day of the French Open Tennis Championships on Sunday.
He dressed up for the occasion, wearing a navy suit and gray waistcoat, completing his look with a light blue tie and shades.
Theriot, on the other hand, opted for a black blazer and white shirt, kept his jewelry to a minimum and wore a chunky watch.
It is worth noting that Crowe tried to catch a tennis ball during the match point of the battle between Alexander Zverev and Benjamin Bonzi.
He grabbed the ball and stood proudly as his fellow fans applauded.
“Isn’t it funny,” Crowe exclaimed, a nod to the famous scene in Gladiator where actor Maximus shouts this phrase in the Colosseum.
The Oscar-winning actor has been dating Theriot for about five and a half years. Rumors of a relationship first surfaced in November 2020 when they were spotted kissing during a heated round of tennis.
In February 2021, they were spotted playing tennis together again in Australia, proving that they are still going strong.
Chat about the couple’s age difference swirled online, with some wondering if Theriot was 30 years younger than the “Nuremberg” star, before Theriot put an end to the speculation.
“It’s very ungentlemanly to do this, but my sweet Britney is 42 years old. I’m 61,” he wrote in an X post last November.
Crowe was previously married to Daniel Spencer and they have two sons, Charles, 22, and Tennyson, 19.
He and Spencer, who is also an actress, married in 2003 but separated in 2012.
Last year, Crowe told Australian show “60 Minutes” that he had no plans to get married a second time because he was “married once” and “I don’t need to go there.”
